Ludwig Bull, Managing Director of CaseCrunch Systems, says:
“This event is significant for two reasons: 1. It’s the first time anybody tries something like this. Whoever challenges lawyers like this again in the future can be smarter or funnier, but they won’t be first. 2. We think the machine could actually win.”
Rebecca Agliolo, Marketing Director of CaseCrunch Systems, says:
“We have confirmed Magic Circle partners, barristers, and in house counsel for the challenge. We are grateful for the trust placed in our firm to deliver a meaningful event beyond the hype.”
1. Format of the Competition
Between 20-27th October, participants will login to a website with facts of real PPI mis-selling complaints received by the Financial Ombudsman Service. They will predict whether the complaint was upheld or rejected. The CaseCrunch system receives the exact same facts and makes its own predictions. The side with the higher accuracy wins the competition.
Competitors can complete the challenge flexibly and anonymously. We chose an area of commercial law to ensure that participating lawyers can comfortably answer the questions. Lawyers will also have the chance to learn more about PPI mis-selling before starting the competition.
A technology judge and a legal judge will verify the fairness of the competition. Ian Dodd, UK Director of Premonition, will announce the verified results.
2. Reception and Results Announcement
On the 27th October, CaseCrunch Systems will host two events. The main event is a reception at Kennedys Law Firm London. This is where we will announce the results of the competition to an exclusive group of lawyers, journalists, politicians, and influencers in the legal and tech industries. The public event will take place before the main event at Google Campus London at 3 PM. This is where we will showcase the system we enter to the competition.
3. How To Enter
Lawyers looking to take part in the challenge must pre-register using the following link: https://www.case-crunch.com/#challenge
